Debuts

Jenna Galapia

Shangri-la at the Fort

Jenna ably squeezed in her debut planning despite her busy schedule as a foreign student in the United Kingdom. Relying mostly on virtual meetings and phone calls, she tapped suppliers to help her with her vision for the party. She wanted a winter wonderland theme with touches of purple, her favorite color.

Her concept was evident in the invitations which featured geometric shapes. The suite, designed by Print Divas, had sugar crystal lollipops as added treats. Everything was inside a white box neatly tied with a colored band and stamped with a silver foil monogram.

The theme was further brought to life with the assistance of event stylist Gideon Hermosa and a team of lighting technicians. Gideon integrated the invitation design in the event styling. Crystal-like structures were placed by the entrance to form a tunnel leading to the ballroom. Glass candelabras which looked like ice sculptures were used together with blooms in different shades of purple as centerpieces. Geometric-shaped vases and ornaments were set on the tables. Guests had their names calligraphed on glass ornaments which also served as place cards.

Jenna was a sight to behold in her Veluz Reyes silver ball gown encrusted with crystals and silver sequins. Make-up artist Madge Lejano made sure that Jenna was flawless up close and personal.

Even the 18 candles used in the debut ritual were aligned with the theme. Ria of Bespoke Manila crafted them with silver geometric ornaments and iridescent purple and silver ribbbons.

The evening’s program was filled with song numbers, a flash mob from family and friends, and heartwarming speeches that visibly delighted Jenna. For Jenna and her guests, It was truly one unforgettable night.
